Seattle Design Review program – Public Engagement Survey (Needs YOUR feedback!)

Please take some time to give feedback about the Seattle Design Review program – Public Engagement Survey.  This is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community!

DPD is looking at ways to improve the Design Review process for new developments.

What’s Happening Now?

“The City of Seattle began the Design Review Program in 1994. Over the past two decades, the review process has improved the design of thousands of development projects in Seattle. Our Design Review Program has evolved to some degree over time. However, the basic structure and organization has not significantly changed since it was established in 1994.

Our Design Review Program Improvements project will identify, evaluate, and implement organizational, structural, and procedural changes to revamp and refresh our Design Review Program. We will work with an advisory group, conduct interviews and a focus group with community stakeholders, conduct an online survey, and host community-wide meetings throughout 2015 to identify and prioritize areas for improvement. We will use that public feedback to develop our recommendations.

Project Goals

Identify options to make the design review process more efficient and accessible Improve community dialogue on design review Identify new and emerging technologies for more effective community engagement

The End Result

We will submit a set of recommendations to improve and refresh our Design Review Program to the Mayor and City Council by the end of 2015.”
