On September 20, 2025, the Roosevelt neighborhood hosted the inaugural Rooted in Roosevelt community celebration. This event, the largest to highlight Roosevelt in decades, was a smashing success!

Planned by the Roosevelt Neighborhood Association, Rooted in Roosevelt featured:
- Eight live music performances from artists connected to the Roosevelt Neighborhood, including the Roosevelt High School Drumline and Orchestra Ensemble
- Booths from over two dozen local businesses and community organizations
- Two food trucks
- A clothing swap
- Interactive community events, including a jiu jitsu demonstration, group dances, and a free salsa lesson
- Director of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Jennifer Chao and Councilmember Maritza Rivera also attended and addressed our community from the stage

Our turnout exceeded expectations, with over 1,000 recorded attendees!
We are grateful to the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods for their support via the Small Sparks grant; the Calvary Christian Assembly for donating festival space; our business sponsors and individual donors; and to 26 community volunteers who helped us plan and coordinate the event.

Building on our success this year, we plan to make Rooted in Roosevelt an annual community tradition returning in 2026!
