Roosevelt Neighborhood Association

September 25, 2025

Hello again! Always so much going on in Roosevelt!

First of all, a HUGE shoutout to all those who made the Rooted in Roosevelt Festival a great success. Over 1,000 people came through, browsed the booths, did a bit of clothes swapping, listened to music, played some games, danced a little, got some swag, bought tee shirts and totes, engaged with neighbors, and ate a little something from both of our wonderful food trucks! What a great day.

We could not have pulled this off without major support from Calvary, which loaned us canopies, chairs, tables, electricity, and, or course, the parking lot! Many thanks to them for putting up with us (even as it became something just a bit bigger than they originally expected ☺️).

The City of Seattle Small Sparks grant was instrumental in making all this possible; thanks to the Department of Neighborhoods for all their help.

To Nat, Ellen, Katy, Nathan, Ari, and Jay, my deep and heartfelt thanks for a job well done! We all worked very hard to get this thing up and running and deserve a bit of celebration before we begin planning for next year. You have been a joy to work with. Oh, and a shout-out to Tobias, too (he’s my truck and worked really hard).

Last but certainly not least, gratitude to our local businesses, especially our sponsors, who took a leap of faith on a first-time festival and a bunch of people who sorta-kinda knew what they were doing but were mostly flying by the seat of their pants. You are the best.

If you attended the festival, please let us know what you thought! There is a survey here, or just email us at rooted@rooseveltseattle.org. As this was our very first festival, we would really like to hear what you have to say and how we can make next year’s even better. And, hey, if you didn’t attend, please let us know why!

By the way, if you want to buy a Rooted tee shirt or tote (soon to be a collector’s item), we still have some. Adult shirts are $20, kids shirts and totes are $10. Email contact@rooseveltseattle.org if you are interested. I am working to set up an online store but it’s not ready yet, so best to just email and we’ll get back to you. If you live in the neighborhood I’ll even personally deliver them!
