Roosevelt Reimagined is a project by the Roosevelt Neighborhood Association to beautify our neighborhood’s vacant lots with temporary artwork.
There are three main components and many opportunities to participate:
- Wooden Flowers: Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and paint a wooden flower to go on the fence. Painted during community paint days.
- Paint-by-numbers Piece: Artist Anna Tono has created a lovely design that community members will create using a large-scale paint-by-numbers approach at the community paint days. Everyone is welcome to come and paint.
- Yarn Pattern: Artist Christian Rincon has created a repeating yarn pattern to go over hundreds of feet of fencing and we will need lots of help installing it.

Despite having a light rail station and being one of the denser neighborhoods in northeast Seattle, Roosevelt has struggled with vacancies and a lack of public open spaces. In 2015, the City of Seattle authorized purchasing land for a future park. But in 2026, the park is still not developed and remains a vacant lot.
