Roosevelt High student wins design contest
Sarah D., a Roosevelt High School student, won a statewide design contest that has been reproduced on tee shirts to be worn by all the competitors in the Washington State Environthon. Congratulations, Sarah! See more information at our blog post here.
Roosevelt Reimagined Help us beautify our neighborhood! We have many empty lots with chain link fences around them, just waiting for art to appear.

What is it? Community-made artwork on fences of vacant lots on 65th Yarn art, painted wood cutouts, a Roosevelt sign or other designs. How? An artist will create a design which will be executed by you and your neighbors! What can I do?

Business of the Month: Nook and Cranny Books!
Congratulations to Nook and Cranny Books, our June Business of the Month! This delightful little bookstore and its wonderful owner, Maren, are a great addition to our neighborhood. True, the store is just a tiny ways into the U District (if you want to get all geographical about it), but Roosevelt embraces our wonderful neighbors (besides, Maren lives here). Please read Carrie’s nice writeup here, then go over and give Nook and Cranny some love!
