Chance Encounter Games

Former engineer Dante Santos traded underwater robotics for something he loved even more: bringing people together through storytelling and adventure. His shop, Chance Encounter Games, at 6317½ Roosevelt Way NE, is part game store, part community haven — and it’s celebrating its first anniversary in June. Stop in and see what the magic is about!

Salvatore Ristorante Italiano

Since 1988, Salvatore Anania has been feeding Roosevelt — and getting to know the people who walk through his door. His Italian recipes are rooted in his southern Italian hometown, and his regulars now bring their grandchildren. Some things are worth discovering for yourself.

Sunlight Cafe

Celebrating nearly 50 years in Roosevelt, Sunlight Cafe proves vegetarian comfort food can win over everyone. This family-owned gem offers more than affordable meals—its cozy atmosphere and genuine warmth create the connection and soul many restaurants have lost. No wonder it’s the neighborhood’s oldest dining establishment.

Roosevelt Vacuum

For nearly 40 years, three generations of Gloria’s family have kept Roosevelt’s vacuums running from the same location. Gloria combines her grandfather’s repair expertise with deep neighborhood connections, delighting in serving second and third-generation customers who trust her skill at solving complex repair problems.

Due Cucina

Owner Filippo Fiori brings authentic Italian recipes—some from his grandmother—to Roosevelt’s Due Cucina. Enjoy fresh, scratch-made pasta in a welcoming space where everyone belongs. Buon appetito!
